Please join us Sat., Apr. 24 for an evening of original music and poetry. Composer Jim Clemens and poet David Wright will be joined by musicians from Lombard Mennonite Church and Wheaton College as they celebrate the gift of collaboration though instrumental, choral, and solo music, as well as selected poems. A highlight of the performance, vocalist Doyle Preheim, accompanied by his wife, Mary Jo, will premiere Clemens' and Wright's song cycle "Lessons." Hosted by Lombard Mennonite, the performance will feature several pieces that have grown from the collaborative work of Wright and Clemens, whose styles stretch from classical to children's music, and incorpoate elements of folk and blues (along with some surprises). Suggested donations of $5 for adults and $10 for families will also include limited childcare and a reception to follow. Proceeds will benefit DuPage PADS.
